OUR STORY

The history of La Margherita restaurant dates back to a distant time, when our great-grandmother Margherita, a woman of great spirit and passion for cooking, decided to turn her home into a place of hospitality and conviviality. It was a time when ships were setting sail for the coasts of Africa and Sardinia, and the scent of the sea mingled with the aroma of the dishes she lovingly prepared.
Margherita, with her culinary creativity, began to create delicious dishes for the crews. These brave sailors, every time they returned home, brought back not only stories of adventures, but also cheeses and typical ingredients from the places they visited. Thus, the flavors of Africa and Sardinia blended with the fresh products of the Island of Giglio, creating a unique union of gastronomic traditions. The early tourists arriving on the Island of Giglio could not help but notice Margherita, leaning on the wall of the current sea-facing veranda, busy preparing fresh fish and many other delicacies for her family and the villagers.
As time passed, the reputation of her cuisine spread, and Margherita began to place tables on the street, inviting passers-by to sit and taste her creations. The street filled with laughter and stories, while the aromas of freshly made dishes wafted through the air. La Margherita thus became a meeting point for both locals and tourists, a place where culinary tradition intertwined with the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Today, the restaurant is managed by the fourth generation, who proudly carry on Margherita′s legacy.

RESTAURANT

Our commitment is to use only local products, when the sea allows, and to select high-quality ingredients from neighboring areas. Our culinary offering is predominantly based on fresh fish, with a variety of dishes that satisfy every palate. Starting from seafood crudités, passing through tartares and carpaccios, kataifi shrimp, cod balls in puttanesca sauce, crispy egg, house mixed starters up to soups, grills and fries, each specialty is prepared with the utmost care.
Among the first courses, our specialities stand out: rock ravioli, gorgonzola gnocchi with ′nduja and crispy speck, risotto with flavors of the sea, a real riot of flavors.
But La Margherita does not forget even lovers of land-based cuisine with delicious meat dishes such as steaks and cuts always accompanied by fresh and seasonal side dishes.

In the heart of our establishment, we have created a cozy and lively bar area, perfect for spending moments of relaxation and conviviality.
Throughout the summer period, this space transforms into a unique meeting point, where we host special evenings dedicated to good taste.
We invite you to join our events where you can savor creative aperitifs accompanied by delicious street food, designed to delight everyone′s palate. Additionally, you′ll appreciate our selection of fine wines and draft beers, all in a unique and impactful location.
